Jetting away anytime soon? Marbella, a beautiful town located on The Costa Del Sol in Southern Spain, the perfect getaway for those who are looking for a little bit of luxury. Favoured by both the rich and famous and tourists alike, Marbella is the go-to destination for sun, sea and spending. 

Known for its expensive hotels there’s no shortage of luxury accommodation on this coastline. Although at first glance it may seem like cheap is not an option in Marbella, if you look a little deeper, especially around the Old Town, there are some deals to be had and if you are looking for a more budget-friendly option then Marbella apartments are a good alternative to hotels with many of them sitting on the beach itself.

There are so many things to see and do in Marbella, though sunbathing and relaxing seems to take the top spot. If you’re looking for an alternative to your sunlounger then here are three other things you must do when you visit.

Marbella is famous for its shopping and if you like to spend when on holiday then this is the place for you. Visit La Canada Shopping Centre for a range of high street stores that will suit every budget and with a good selection of food and drink options outlets too this shopping centre is the perfect destination for a day away from the beach.

If you are looking for food then Marbella Food Market is the place to be, serving traditional Spanish cuisine and authentic Spanish produce, hidden away and off the tourist map this market is often overlooked by tourists and is a great place to visit. 

Finally, to find the perfect souvenir or simply to experience a more traditional shopping experience then you must visit Puerto Banus Street Market which is held at the bullring a short walk from the harbour. The Puerto Banus Street Market is a very large market that hosts a great variety of stalls so whether you want some unique boutique clothing or a something to take home to the family it’s a great place to visit.

Try your hand at some watersports

With over 20km of beautiful coastline it’ not surprising that Marbella is home to all manner of watersports. From jet skiing to canoeing, snorkelling to diving there’s something for everyone. If you’re not so much of a fan of exersion then let someone else take the wheel and charter one of the many boats for a day to enjoy a day on the water.

And for fishing lovers cast your line and hope for the top prize, with Yellowfin tuna lurking beneath the waves. Fishing in Marbella is very rich and if deep sea fishing is your thing then expect to catch some big game including swordfish and white marlin.

Visit the Old Town to soak up the culture

Marbella old town is the place to go for friendly, cosy vibes and romantic winding streets.
