On the whole, people working from home were the minority. However, due to Covid-19, there has been a massive shift that has lead t many people suddenly working remotely instead of in the office. While some people may be very used to this style of working, others are still struggling to find their happy place.

Although working in a role that allows you to work from home during this time is incredibly lucky, there are still challenges that you may face every day, especially if it’s something that you aren’t used ot or just can’t adapt to. One of the biggest impacts on your life that working from has, is the impact it has on your mental health.

Try To Stick To A Routine
Ok, so there have been many funny videos, or Tiktoks online of people taking the mick out of this piece of advice by literally pretending to do their commute or get in their car. However, this rule is there for a very good reason. You don’t need to follow your routine to the letter, so, if you would normally go on a commute, why not think about starting your day earlier? Going for a walk? Doing a workout? Preparing your lunch ahead of time? Whatever you choose, fill that space with something productive. Try to resist filling your extra time with more sleep, watching Tv, or getting distracted. One of the best things you can do is still work your normal working day.
Keep Moving
You may be fed up with all the advice telling you how important it is to stay active, but, again it is a vital and valuable piece of advice. Exercise doesn’t need to be a workout every day, a walk at lunchtime or at the end of your working day is more than enough to feel the benefits You should try not to force yourself to do any exercise that you don’t enjoy either. Exercise is promoted so much because it helps to reduce stress, improve sleep, replenish energy, and elevate moods.
Get Help If You Need It
Your mental health is one of the most important things for you to take care of in your life, it is also one of the most fragile. If you start to notice that you can’t lift your mood, you are feeling argumentative for no reason, are stressed, anxious, or feel generally low it’s imperative that you seek professional help from services like Bluesky Psychology.
