Well now, it’s such a change from when I last wrote; There’s no abysmal downpours, slightly fewer clouds and can you believe that we are actually experiencing some form of sunshine here in the UK. I know, it could completely diversify and turn on its head, but for now, I am a happy sun-loving bunny – Crazy optimist?
However, with us speaking so freely about changes, I thought it would be wise to bring another sequel to our health and wellbeing discussion that we’ve been delving into, as it’s curated a good response which hopefully means it’s helping those out there who may feel like they have been walking in these ‘kind of shoes‘ and as such can relate to these situations or scenarios.
Trusting your gut
We have so many sayings about ‘trusting your gut’ and following your intuition. But have you ever had that gut feeling, and ignored it? Whether it’s a person who you feel is untrustworthy, or a situation which just doesn’t feel right, our bodies and brains are really good at giving us warning signs. Sometimes we can’t even put our finger on the reason why. It just is that way. What is speaking to us in those moments? It’s our intuition!
You might be reading this because you secretly know that you’re ignoring that intuitive part of yourself. Perhaps you’re wondering how to get back in touch with who you really are. The good news is, there are lots of ways we can get in touch with our gut instinct again. The first is to realise we haven’t been listening.
To reconnect with your gut instinct, try journalling. You don’t need to worry about writing perfectly. In fact, it’s better if it’s just a stream of words flowing onto the page. Lots of people love to do this first thing in the morning. Just let your thoughts spill out onto the page. It’s amazing to see what’s been playing on your mind without you even realising it! Seeing the thoughts on the page can help you develop a closer understanding of yourself and what your inner voice is trying to tell you. Over time, you can build up more of a picture of what your intuition says to you.
Many people turn to spirituality to reconnect with their intuition. Meditation is a popular and highly beneficial way of connecting to your ‘inner teacher’. If you can develop a daily meditation practice, even if it’s just sitting quietly for five minutes, this can have a dramatic impact. In this hectic and crazy world, peace and quiet can be what you need to feel like yourself again. In our busy lifestyles, it’s hard to take a moment for ourselves. It’s not until you calm your mind that you realise what on earth has been going on in there!
If the more mystical side of spirituality intrigues you, there are loads of ways of using this to develop your intuition. Some people love to experiment with tarot cards. These mystical cards can help you to understand the journey that you’re on. They are a useful tool to re-evaluate how you see the world. Plus, they come with beautiful and ornate designs, so they are a beautiful thing to have in the house.
Other people who want to get in touch with the intuitive side of things seek out psychics. You might be able to find a local psychic who could do a reading for you. Alternatively, you can get psychic readings via text message. It’s a great way to gain a different perspective and tap into the more mystical side of life.
Crystals can also be really healing and grounding. Some of the best crystals for encouraging intuition are said to be quartz crystals. They are said to encourage clarity of mind, so you’re free to receive messages from your deeper self.
No matter how you get more in touch with your intuition, the main thing is to learn to trust your gut again. Those feelings are there to protect you. It’s a powerful force that we can all tap in to improve our lives.
