So! I’m not going to lie, I’m quite pleased with myself *smirks* For I have actually been a good girl in Lockdown 3.0, and in doing so haven’t actually been out (or been able to go out for that matter) to buy my sweetheart anything. There, I’ve said it – I have nothing for him!… Yet.
However, just because we don’t get the usual last-minute flowers or chocolates this year, It doesn’t mean that this year can’t be just as special as every other day before it. And I for one am going to try my best to assure this is the case.
Want to know what I plan on buying/doing for my fiancé this Valentine’s Day?
- Skinny Beer – His favourite tipple! And although he absolutely loves it, this is still only for a special occasion and is to be consumed as a treat – though if he loses count on his special day then Skinny Beer’s are renowned for being not as naughty as usual beers, so we’ll most likely let that one slip. However, I wasn’t aware until only recently that these could actually be brought from Amazon, AND being a Prime customer can also be delivered the next day.
Last-minute gift? Yep. Tick. - Create a date night atmosphere – For all the times that we have missed and haven’t been able to escape to our favourite restaurants or greasy “spoonies”. I want to replicate one of these distant-feeling moments for us to enjoy as a couple. This will consist of the ‘what you would expect’ from a restaurant – Starters, Mains and Desserts. However, maybe ever so slightly less elegant, as it will be mostly spent being enjoyed in baggy clothing or PJs.
Remember it’s ‘your’ restaurant, your rules! - Valentine’s attire – Although PJs are VERY sexy (Let no one tell you otherwise!) it’ll once again be the day of love. So, I may, “MAY” allow him to see me in something other than “tracky botttoms” and instead reward him with, dare I say it – Something lacey! *cringes* However, this will ONLY be if I don’t find myself feeling too cosy and comfy in my usual loose “getup” during the night.
Which inevitably I will, hee hee!
And that’s it! Only just breaching 500 words. Who is she?
What I decide to buy doesn’t in any way reflect how much I love my sweetheart. In fact, if you look at it from a different perspective, their day ‘should’ mean a whole lot more, as organically you’re putting so much more of you into their day, and just spending time with them should mean so much more than how heavy your pockets are, and what you’re willing to spend on them.
So that’s it. It’s only one day and really doesn’t need to be expensive or excessive – Mine won’t! – Especially in these tough times. As long as you’ve got the bare essentials you can easily get “creative” with the rest!
