Guys, it’s official, Summer is finally here! You know providing the few hiccups here and there by good ol’ Mr. Weather. But as a whole, we’re experiencing much warmer temperatures here in the UK and fun fact; now if you walk down your local streets you may be able to spot the everso ‘anonymous’, ‘dignified’, ‘half-naked’ bodies – I know right, where do all their clothes go?
But all joking aside, we are embracing our bodies and so we have to regularly practice excellent skincare in order to keep our skin looking fresh and clean but most importantly moisturised – As who wants to show off flaky, grimey skin? Yeouch!
So with that being said, I am going to share with you one of my favourite skincare steps; Masks.
MASKTIME kindly sent me one of their May Glow Starter Subscription Boxes, in collaboration with Duft & Doft which contains 4 masks, and the masks are said to soothe, plump and brighten your skin – Which I’m totally up for!
MASKTIME Glow Starter Box contains;
1 x Pink Milk Mask – Tone Up + Boost Radiance
1 x Hydra Soother Deep Hydration Mask – Moisturizing + Revitalizing
1 x Salmon VGENE Hydro Active Mask – Anti-Wrinkle + Whitening
1 x Black Therapy Customized Refining Mask – Purifying + Brightening
For this review, I think I’m going to try the Hydra Soother Deep Hydration Mask. As lately I’ve been in the middle of wallpaper stripping, plastering, and oh you know.. dust in general so as you can probably gather, my skin hasn’t been the happiest it’s ever been.
Now as you will see below, there are instructions on the back of the product which are super easy to read and also understand (Which is always a bonus when receiving any kind of international product)
First Step; Cleanse
So I went ahead and used my FAVOURITE skincare product; Hot Cloth Cleanser and by Liz Earle. I absolutely adore her products! The cleanser works miracles at cleaning my skin and leaves it free from feeling oily or grimey – An absolute must on anyone’s list in my opinion!
Second Step; Application
After peeling off the film liner this step was relatively easy. You know, once you’ve navigated around the different shapes and which parts to actually stick to your face.. Now enjoy looking like a bit of an alien for around 20 minutes.
Final Step; Removal and Preserve
After taking off the mask, the instructions read that it’s vital to savour every last drop of the essence so massage your used mask around the face and down to neck to extend the goodness within. Do this until the cream is completely absorbed into the skin.
As I have only tried the one mask I can only comment on my experience using the Hydra Soothing Mask from MASKTIME;
“The overall mask application was relatively easy and when it was applied you could literally feel instant hydration and all the moisture which your skin once lost being pumped back into your skin. It felt incredible!”
Looking for a face mask to suit you?
Now there are tons of facial masks out there, how do I know which ones are good for my skin? Simple. Do your research. When choosing a mask nearly ALWAYS opt for sensitivity if you’re unsure of what skin type you are. As, if your skin is naturally prone to reacting towards fragrances or ingredients commonly found in facial masks, then this will put your mind and your face at ease.
Cosmopolitan include a few examples of some of the good (and not so good) masks out there on the market today.
Have a favourite mask? Let me know!
