Wet Weather And What You Can Do About It! *Tips to REDUCE Anxiety and Stress*

June 7, 2019

Now, I know what you’re thinking – “What an incredibly silly title” and maybe even a silly post. Obviously the terrible weather has dictated this post, but who’s to say we have to be serious every moment of every day? I say in the words of the late Heath Ledger“Why so serious?” Right?
Of course, like most, I want to put my own original jovial spin on this post but I also do want to hit a few very important points your way, that is if you’ll let me… Pretty please with extra cherries and sprinkles on top…?

So with that being said, hopefully, this can be something that you can relate to when you’re feeling a bit, meh.

Now back to the title!

So what can we do about the wet weather? And the answer to that my quizzical amigos is;

Unless you’re in an alliance with the weather gods, I’m afraid not a god damn thing!

However, like the famous quote dictates – ‘Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s learning to dance in the rain’. Which is just an obnoxious way of saying; Sometimes you have to learn to be happy with what you’ve got or what you’re dealt with, otherwise you’ll never truly find the happiness that contents you. So with that being said, there are ways in which you can learn to dance in the rain both literally and figuratively, and although it may seem a little difficult to begin with, I promise that once you’ve found your rhythm, you’ll find that maybe not the next time, or maybe even the time after that but one day it’ll come naturally to you and suddenly you’ll know how to dodge those rainy blues.

Can I get an “Amen!”

So, in a bid to offer support to those who may feel this way; I’m going to share my coping strategy with you all, not to bog anyone down, no! But to in fact hopefully (fingers crossed) educate and familiarise feelings that perhaps we all share but just don’t know it yet, because although it may come as a surprise to some – not many people like to talk about it.

Now, these tips may seem like common sense to many of you..

If we continue to search for this ideal ‘perfection and superior-godly-like’ versions of our self – Which has anyone found yet? Just curious..

In all seriousness though, if we’re too busy searching for ‘the unknown’ then we can easily lose ourselves along the way. So, I would like this to be seen as a gentle reminder that you’re doing great and by following something like this and doing what you’re doing, that you’ll get through this little, insignificant, inconvenient, bump.

Remember guys; Everyone copes differently and so we have our own different coping mechanisms, so this is simply a reminder to;

‘Do you and be true because what you are is bloody fantastic and you need to keep telling yourself that, BUT more importantly believe it!’

That’s my ramblings over with, so now I’m going to leave you with my favourite quote from one of my favourite Disney films, Zootopia;

“Real life is a little bit more complicated than a slogan on a bumper sticker. Real life is messy. We all have limitations, we all make mistakes, which means – hey, glass half full! – we all have a lot in common. And the more we try to understand one another, the more exceptional each of us will be. But we have to try. So no matter what type of animal you are; from the biggest elephant to our first fox, I implore you – try. Try to make the world a better place. Look inside yourself and recognize that change starts with you. It starts with me. It starts with all of us.”

Me again, last one I promise! It goes without saying, but should you guys need a ‘virtual shoulder’ to lean/cry on then feel free to hit me up on ANY of my socials (@rachyreviews) or just here!

      They’re amazing little creatures aren’t they? Anytime I am feeling a little down or just generally finding that I’m needing that extra bit of love I can always count on my little Arnie (Springerdoodle) to be right by my side. Works wonders every time!

    I love that you ended your post with a zootopia quote! I love that movie so much. I never thought of avoiding alcohol or caffeine! I’m sure dog therapy surely helps too. Animal therapy in general! Thanks for sharing Rachy!

      You know I just had too.. I feel like if everyone could inject a little more Disney into their posts then we could all see it from an easy point of view and relate a little bit better.
      Yeah me neither until I left it alone a while -it’s known to provide a chemical which tells your brain to feel happy and gives it the numbing kinda feeling you may experience. But like I said, it’s temporary and the fall is greater than the experience.

      Thanks hun!

  3. Great post! Definitely talking to someone can be really helpful, I know that when I’m feeling really stressed or anxious, it helps me to talk to my boyfriend or my mum about it. And yess animal therapy is great, it always makes me feel a bit better chilling with my cat hehe.
